Night rose garden
From summer to autumn, a night rose garden is held where the rose garden is lit up. Please enjoy it in conjunction with HIKARI Street, which will be held throughout the Hanamaki Onsen grounds.

Construction began in 1958 on the site where Nansha Kadan once stood. It opened two years later in 1960.
Over 6,000 roses of approximately 450 different varieties decorate the garden with bright colors and rich fragrances throughout the year on a site of approximately 5,000 tsubo in area. Some of the roses have been improved and certified as new varieties in our garden, and there is also a sundial flower bed designed by Kenji Miyazawa.

This is our garden's first original climbing rose variety.

This new variety was created to commemorate the 95th anniversary of Hanamaki Onsen's founding.

Olympia Rose 2020
This is the 10th Hanamaki Onsen original variety.
The leaves are light and compact. It is also recommended for beginners, as a full stock will produce many buds and can be enjoyed for a long time. The flowers bloom in late autumn in a rose pink color and have lovely medium-sized clusters with a faint fragrance.since: 2020

sundial flower bed
The sundial flower bed in one corner of the rose garden is famous for being designed by Kenji Miyazawa. It was originally located in the courtyard of Momijikan, but was later moved to the rose garden.
Lover's Sacred Place Satellite
In April 2016, Hanamaki Onsen was selected as a satellite sacred place for lovers. The Satellite Monument, a sacred place for lovers, contains the Moonstone, known as the ``Stone of Lovers, the Stone that Conveys Love,'' and is tightly sealed with a golden heart-shaped lid. It is a popular spot to take commemorative photos surrounded by blooming roses.

60th anniversary garden
The garden was created in 2020 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the opening of the Hanamaki Onsen Rose Garden. In the center of the five circular flower beds, the original variety "Olympia Rose 2020", which was born in 2020, is planted. This is a popular photo spot located in front of the entrance to the rose garden.
